How To Protect Matte Painting On Bikes | Do's And Don'ts

Hello guys, Welcome back to the new blog post. In this blog post I like to address “How To Protect Matte Painting On Bikes | Do’s And Don’ts On Matte Painting”. A detailed article regarding Precautions to follow to protect Matte Painting on the bike.


In these recent years, All the Auto manufacturers are using Matte Paintings on their motorcycles. The bike starting from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 10,00,000 getting  Matte finish on the bike. Here are some of the useful tips to protect your Matte painting on the bike. At the end of the article, I will say the Do’s And Don’ts on Matte Painting to look your bike New one in the long run.

Matte Paint Protection:-

  • It is important to protect your matte finish on your bike. Matte finishing is Hazy and not Shiny layer which  you won’t see on the mirror finish and metallic finish painting layer.
  • You can feel the Matte finish on the bike when you touch it. You will feel like a kind of roughness on the surfaces of it. That is the Matte finish and there will be many differences between Matte Painting And Glossy Painting.
  • It is very easy to maintain a Matte finish bike when compared to a Glossy finish bike.
  • To maintain the Matte finish on your bike you must wash your bike every day with plain water. You should not use any detergent or Wax in the water. If you use any wax or shampoo you should use the wax which is made only for Matte Painting.
  • Always use a soft Microfiber cloth to clean the surfaces. It will not cause any scratches or dent on the surface on the matte finish.
  • Don’t rub the surfaces very harshly. Gently move the microfiber cloth on the surfaces to clean all the dust particles on it.
  • After washing the entire matte finish parts with plain water, Clean the entire surface with a wet microfiber cloth to avoid watermarks on  the surface of the bike.
  • Regularly try to do this for every 2 days to look your bike New.
  • Matte Finish Paints Can’t be polished again so try to male Lamination on the surface of the matte finish if you can’t able to wash the bike regularly. It is the best practice to maintain a Matte finish for longs years. 
  • Lamination will not cause any damage to the matte painting, when you cover matte with lamination then your bike looks Glossy.
  •  Lamination on Matte bikes is only suggested for people who can’t clean and wash their bikes regularly.

Matte Paint Polishes:-

Here are some of the polishes mainly designed to protect Matte finishing on the bike and I love to suggest that product to you people. You can spend a little amount on it to protect the Matte finish very easier.

  1.  Wavex Matte Finish Bike Polish Maintainer
  2. Formula 1 Premium Fast spray Wax
  3. Softspun Microfiber Cloth

(1). Wavex Matte Finish Bike Polish Maintainer:-

  • Waves Matte Finish Bike Polish is completely designed only for Matte finish painting.
  • Many people don’t have a proper idea what type of Matte polish I have to use on the bike, I highly recommend everyone to use Wavex brand Matte polish products. They are completely suitable for Matte finish painting on the bikes.
  • Before using Matte polish on your bike first clean all the dust particles with a microfiber cloth. Completely clean the entire area of Matte finish with a microfiber cloth cleanly before using Matte polish.
  • After cleaning the entire surface take few drops on Matte polish on new microfiber cloth on it and gently rub the microfiber cloth on the entire Matte painting, It will clean the surface of the matte and bring the Matte finish back on it.
  • After applying the matte polish on the Matte surface you can see the difference on it and you can feel the matte finish on your hand.
  • Guys Never use Wax Or shampoo on Matte finish painting. It will reduce the Matte finishing on the bike and it start to appear like to Glossy finish.

(2). Formula 1 Premium Fast Spray Wax:-

  • Formula 1 Premium Spray Was Is very easy and very fast to apply it om the Matte finish. It will improves the Matte Polish on the bike and improve the appearance of the Matte finish on the bike.
  • Most of the Ceramic Painting centre’s use this Formula 1 brand Matte Polish Spray Wax. It makes the matte finish to look good.
  • Even though it is expensive you can buy this to get more improvements on Matte Finish when compared to Wavex brand.

(3). Softspun Microfiber Cloth:-

  • It is very important to use a good quality microfiber cloth to clean the entire surface of the Matte area.
  • The microfiber cloth should be very soft and smooth and it does not cause any dents, staining, Etching, Scratches on the surface of the Matte Paint.
  • Softspun microfiber cloth is very smooth and soft and it is completely designed to clean the surface of Matte paint bikes. 
  • It doesn’t damage matte paint on the bike. Even though if you rub the microfiber cloth gently on the surfaces it does not allow scratches on the surface of the bike.
  • I highly suggest you, People, to use a high-quality microfiber cloth to protect Matte painting.

Do's And Don'ts On Matte Painting:-

Do's On Matte Painting:-

  1.  Always Use Plain Water To Clean The Entire Matte Surface On the Bike.
  2.  Use A Soft Microfiber Cloth On Matte Finish To Avoid Scratches On It.
  3.  Clean The Matte Surface Twice A week To Maintain The Matte Finish On It.
  4.  Use Matte Finish Bike Polish On The Matte Painting To Improve The Appearance Of Matte On It.
  5.  It Is Better To Laminate The Entire Bike If You Can’t Able To Wash The Bike Regularly. Lamination Will Protect The Matte Finishing On The Bike And It Does Not Cause Any Damage To Matte Painting.

Don'ts On Matte Painting:-

  1.  Never use wax Or shampoo on the Matte finish at any cost.
  2.  Don’t use Bluffing machines on matte surfaces. It will damage Matte Painting.
  3.  Don’t use pressure wash on Matte areas regularly. I will reduce the appearance of Matte.
  4.  Prevent direct contact to sunlight. Always keep your bike under the shade to avoid fading of Matte.
  5.  Do not use a rough microfiber cloth on Matte Paintings.
