What Is Meant By ABS?
- ABS stands for anti lock breaking system which means whenever a rider applies breaks suddenly(or)harshly due to any panic situation the bike will not skid (or) lock the Tyre’s on the road and it will saves the life of an rider.
- The internal mechanism inside the ABS is,When ever the rider applies the brakes suddenly the speed sensing sensors will monitor all the changes which is happening on the wheel and sends an feedback to the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and the ECU gives a feedback saying that there is some uncertainty in the speed and it will start activating the ABS system.
- Whenever the rider applies the breaks the ABS will not jam the Tyre and will not skid on the road surface.So that the rider can have a proper grip on this bike and can control the swing of the bike.
- Internally the brakes will be applied for 15 times when you apply break once.The process will be repeated for 15 times internally and it makes bike to get controlled.
- One of the best live saving feature was first introduced in BMW bikes as a standard breaking system.
Main Advantages Of Having ABS:-
- The main advantages of having ABS in motorcycle will prevent road accidents to some extent.
- It will stop locking the Tyre’s when you apply breaks in panic situations.So the rider can have more balance and the Tyre’s will be in contact with the ground and it will have more friction between the Tyre and the ground.
- Improves the breaking performance more on highway conditions.
- Now a days Government of India has decided ABS is mandatory for all the vehicles above 150cc.So all the motto manufacturer companies started implementing ABS as a standard in their vehicles.
- Even if we get single channel ABS the ECU will takes the reading from the front wheel and acts according to that.
- Many rider have saved their lives having ABS when they are riding in rain conditions.
